Iron-Modified Biochar

Raw biochar that has undergone iron-sulfate soak and high alkalinity precipitation. Designed as a nutrient-removing water filtration media.

Research by the U.S. Forest Service found biochar to be an effective soil amendment. When biochar is added to the soil, the carbon acts as a sponge, soaking up water and nutrients for plant and soil microbes to use. One ton of woody material produces one cubic yard (500 lbs) of high quality biochar and 500 pounds of carbon are kept out of the atmosphere.
